What is Abalone?
Abalone are a diverse group of marine mollusks known for their captivating iridescent shells. These gastropod mollusks are found in coastal waters around the world, from cold to temperate regions.
There are over 100 species and many variations of colour.
The iridescent layer of the shell used in jewellery is called nacre or more commonly mother-of-pearl.
It is often considered spiritual, offering protection to it's wearer.
