By far the most common type of silver jewellery is 925 silver, known as Sterling Silver.
925 means it contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. It is considered to be pure silver. The 's' that is sometimes shown with 925 is an abbreviation of silver.
There is also 999 silver, known as Fine Silver, but it is rarely used for jewellery as it bends very easily.
