Every city has professional pick pockets working it's streets. Make sure you are not their next victim by securing your wallet with a strong chain, that just the sight of, will deter would be thieves.
Or maybe you've had it fall out of your pocket as you stagger home in a drunken stupor. My drink buddies tell me that can happen!
